Dr. Sergio Martínez-Vázquez successfully delivered the SRIP Development Workshop on Perinatal Suicide at the University of Jaén in October 2024, bringing together an international, multidisciplinary panel of experts to address the impact of suicidal ideation during the perinatal period and the factors associated with maternal mental health. The hybrid event attracted 72 participants, including clinicians, researchers, educators, and students, and featured presentations from leading specialists in perinatal mental health from Spain and the UK alongside lived-experience perspectives. Through expert talks, discussion and knowledge exchange, the workshop highlighted the importance of early identification, prevention and collaborative approaches to reducing perinatal suicide. To extend its impact, all presentations were recorded and are being released as a podcast series, while the event also received media coverage and excellent feedback from attendees, who praised its relevance, quality and contribution to raising awareness of this important public health issue.
